Ash O’Brien (they/them) is a seventeen year old lifelong Boston resident and musician. Ash began playing music at six years old – starting first with the violin. Ash moved on to piano and especially enjoys playing jazz. As a student at Boston Latin School, Ash participated in the school’s music program playing trombone in class ensembles. They were chosen to play in the school’s symphonic band as well. Outside of school time, Ash played trombone, piano and bass in the Boston Latin School Dues Band (junior jazz band). In Boston Latin School’s nationally renowned and state gold medal winning Big Band, Ash played trombone and traveled to New York for the Mingus Festival.
In their spare time, Ash has picked up guitar, percussion and various other instruments and has accompanied and played with Fourth Presbyterian Church in South Boston.
Ash aspires to partner their love for music and interest in psychology to become a Music Therapist.
